Dental Implant

Dental implants are frequently the best treatment option for replacing missing teeth , whether for one tooth or for a whole set of teeth. Rather than resting on the gum line like removable dentures , or using adjacent teeth as anchors like fixed ridges.

Replacing lost teeth can prevent migration of surrounding teeth , and protect the structural integrity of the jaw bones . It is composed of an artificial root that looks like a post or screw made of pure titanium and is covered with a dental crown .Treatment involves the surgical placement of the implant into the jawbone , and leaving it for about 3-6 months , where it is allowed to fuse to the bone in a process called " Osseo integration " . Once healed , the implant  acts  as an anchor for an artificial replacement tooth ,or crown . The crown is made to blend in with your other teeth and is permanently attached to the implant .

The first step of fitting  dental implants is exposing the bone where the implant will be inserted, which is normally done under local anesthesia . After that, the implant is placed into the jaw bone and a cover screw is put in . Implant that are planted directly onto the bone are called endosteal implants . Such implants are made of titanium or titanium allow , a material that is not rejected by the body and does not negatively interact with it . After this step is completed , the resulting wound is closed up with stitches .
